The Axo Houseboat is a self-catering apartment in the heart of the city. You have your own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room. It's has a light and roomy living area with 2 sofas beds, in case not everyone wants to sleep together, and a large dinning table. There's a stereo which you can connect with and a flat screen TV with premium channels and programs (Dutch, English and American, some French and German). But you might find watching the boats go by and feeding the swans more interesting. The beds in the bedroom can also be made up as 2 singles and with 2 sofa beds in the living room it's very versatile and perfect for friends as well as a family.
Located right in the centre of town you are walking distance to all of the popular tourist attractions. 20 minutes walk to Central Station, Museum quarter (Van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijks museums), Vondel Park, Leidseplein and 5 minutes to the flower market, Waterloo flea market or the Hermitage museum. Your surrounded by cafes and restaurants if you don't want to cook and terrace bars for an afternoon drink in the sun.
You can spend a week in Amsterdam and not see it all or if you just want to chill then wandering round the beautiful canals, visiting coffeeshops and eating stroopwaffles and pancakes is also great way to lose a few days. 27th April is King's Day and one of the biggest parties of the year throughout Holland and really a lot of fun. All over locals set up stalls on the street and sell all their old unwanted treasures. The city is one big flea market with street parties and lots of drinking. And for the art lovers, there's also the new Hockney exhibition at the Van Gogh Museum. And with the stunningly beautiful Rijks Museum, Stedelijk Museum and Moco Museum (modern art) you really can have an overdose of art. This year is a celebration year for Rembrandt with extra exhibits going on.
